Séverine Blanchet
Iyengar Yoga Teacher, Photojournalist & Explorer of Spiritual Traditions
Séverine Blanchet embodies a rare path at the crossroads of art, inner exploration, and the wisdom traditions of the world. An Iyengar Yoga teacher for more than fifteen years and an international photojournalist for over thirty years, she has devoted her life to exploring the living world, the body, and consciousness.
Through both her teaching and her photographic work, Séverine seeks what is essential: revealing the invisible thread that connects human beings to themselves, to others, and to the deeper dimensions of life. Her profoundly human journey, nourished by encounters with cultures and ancestral spiritual traditions across the globe, makes her a guide of remarkable sensitivity and authenticity.
Today, she lives and teaches between several lands close to her heart — France, India, Nepal, Morocco, and especially Mongolia, which has become her spiritual home in recent years. There, she shares an approach to yoga that is deeply embodied, transformative, and rooted in presence.
Backround
For more than three decades, Séverine Blanchet has traveled the world as a photojournalist, documenting cultures, communities, and human realities with a gaze that is both artistic and deeply compassionate. Her photography reflects a rare ability to capture the soul of people and the silent power of meaningful moments.
Alongside her international career, she has dedicated more than fifteen years to the study and teaching of Iyengar Yoga — a demanding discipline based on precision, alignment, and refined awareness of the body and breath. Her teaching combines rigor, sensitivity, and kindness, allowing each student to enter a deeply conscious experience of yoga.
As a member of the Interbeing community within the Plum Village Buddhist tradition founded by Thích Nhất Hạnh, she also integrates the Five or Fourteen Mindfulness Trainings into her retreats and workshops. This contemplative dimension enriches her teaching and invites students to experience yoga as a true art of living.
For more than fifteen years, Séverine has also explored shamanic paths and ancestral spiritual traditions. This inner research deepens her understanding of the invisible worlds and brings a unique depth to her work, where body, energy, breath, and consciousness are constantly interwoven.
Activities
The experiences offered by Séverine Blanchet go far beyond traditional yoga teaching. Her retreats and workshops are designed as immersive journeys of inner transformation.
With remarkable fluidity and intelligence, she weaves together:
- Iyengar Yoga asanas,
- pranayama,
- Yoga Nidra,
- mantras and mudras,
- intuitive dance,
- art therapy,
- drum journeys,
- mindfulness meditation,
- and practices inspired by shamanic traditions.
Each experience becomes an invitation to slow down, feel, listen deeply, and reconnect with oneself and the living world.
Her work is guided by a rare quality of presence, refined intuition, and a natural ability to create spaces of trust, beauty, and inner alignment.
In brief...
Some people do not simply teach a practice — they embody a way of being in the world. Séverine Blanchet is one of them.
A photographer of the soul as much as a guide of body and breath, she brings together art, yoga, mindfulness, and ancestral spiritual traditions with remarkable coherence and depth. Her international journey, human commitment, and inner quest have shaped an approach that is profoundly alive and deeply inspiring.
With Séverine, yoga becomes a journey — an inner passage where movement, silence, breath, imagery, and vibration open the door to a deeper reconnection with oneself, with others, and with the wisdom of life itself.
