When My Profession Became a Mission

My name is Chimegmaa ORSOO.

I was born in Mongolia, and for more than thirty years I have been organizing immersive journeys across the steppes, connecting travelers with nomadic families and the living traditions of my homeland.

For many years, I practiced this profession with passion. I loved sharing the beauty of Mongolia, introducing visitors to its culture, and welcoming travelers from around the world. But a few years ago, something profoundly changed in the way I viewed my work.

The Encounter That Changed My Perspective

I had the privilege of meeting a Mongolian shamanic master.

I believed I already knew my country. I was born there, raised there, and had been guiding travelers through its landscapes and traditions for decades.

Yet he revealed a dimension of my own culture that I had never truly seen.

He taught me to look at the traditional ger (yurt) not simply as a nomadic dwelling, but as a symbolic representation of human life.

I discovered that every element carries meaning, that every gesture conveys wisdom, and that behind each tradition lies knowledge passed down through generations.

That encounter transformed the relationship I had with my own roots.

What I Came to Understand

I realized that many peoples possess cultural treasures whose value is no longer fully recognized.

Across the world, ancient traditions still carry teachings about balance, family, our relationship with nature, gratitude, and the deeper meaning of life.

I began to see my profession differently.

I no longer wanted simply to introduce people to a country.

I wanted to create opportunities for travelers to encounter living cultures and, through them, to rediscover their own roots with fresh eyes.

The Birth of Sacred Origins Travel

This vision gave birth to Sacred Origins Travel.

The journeys we offer are not designed as ordinary tours.

They are immersive human experiences that bring travelers into contact with communities that have preserved a profound connection to their traditions.

Whether in Mongolia, Peru, the Sahara Desert, or other lands rich in ancestral heritage, we create authentic encounters with men and women who continue to embody and transmit ancient wisdom.

Each journey is an invitation to listen, to understand, and to experience.

An Experience Built on Trust

Every journey we offer has been personally experienced and carefully explored.

Every guide, practitioner, and cultural host has been known to us for many years and selected for their authenticity, integrity, and deep connection to their own traditions.

For more than three decades, my commitment has remained the same: to create sincere experiences that honor local cultures while offering travelers meaningful and transformative encounters.

Beyond Travel

Over time, I realized that not everyone has the opportunity to travel to distant lands.

That is why I also founded the School of Ancestral Wisdom near Paris.

Through workshops, retreats, and gatherings around the fire, we share the same essential teachings: self-knowledge, connection to one’s roots, relationship with nature, and the wisdom found within human traditions.

Whether on the Mongolian steppes or in a forest near Paris, the intention remains the same:

To help each person reconnect with something that already belongs to them.

Because the greatest gift my Mongolian master gave me was not new knowledge.

He simply helped me recognize what was already within me.

That is the experience I now wish to share through every journey we create.
