…Going to Mongolia to celebrate Tsagaan Sar with the nomads felt like coming home after a very long absence and awakening an infinite love for this country, its people, and its landscapes. I had to leave, but my heart remained in the steppes, waiting for the next journey…”

A time to slow down, listen, share, and allow yourself to be transformed by the power of the white desert and the presence of shamans.

The program is indicative: we will refine the details together during a Zoom meeting before departure, in order to adapt the experience to the group’s energy and each individual’s pace.

Enfant mongol qui regarde par la porte

Many people choose to discover Mongolia in summer, when the steppes are green and the sky seems infinite. Yet it is in winter that Mongolia reveals its most authentic soul. Under the sparkling snow, silence settles in, time slows down, and nomadic life breathes again to the rhythm of fire and hot tea.

It is during this season that Tsagaan Sar is celebrated — the Mongolian Lunar New Year, equivalent to our Christmas, but infused with a gentle nomadic spirit. For three full days, families visit one another, exchange blessings and traditional dishes, and celebrate the arrival of spring after the long winter months. Homes and yurts open their doors, faces light up, and milk and white flour — symbols of purity and renewal — take center stage.

Experiencing Mongolia at this time means immersing yourself in the human warmth of a people deeply connected to their traditions, in the heart of a landscape that is dormant yet full of energy. It is about feeling the strength of connection, the simple joy of hospitality, and an ancestral serenity found only here, in the silence of the Mongolian winter.

During this exceptional journey, you will have the opportunity to celebrate Tsagaan Sar alongside a nomadic family. Experience authentic Mongolian traditions:

  • Greeting elders with the snuff bottle

  • Offering blessings for the new year

  • Festive meals

  • Full immersion in nomadic culture

Be aware that during the New Year celebration, there are no set schedules — you eat sheep meat morning, noon, and night, sometimes even late into the night.

Tsagaan Sar (the “White Moon”) is a sacred period for Mongolians, marking a new energetic cycle. The program also includes moments of well-being with a visit to the famous Tsenkher Hot Springs, where you can enjoy natural warm waters in the heart of winter.

This journey is designed for those who value authenticity over tourist comfort and rigid schedules. Come with an open heart, ready to share unique moments in respect of Mongolian traditions and way of life. With a positive and kind attitude, this experience will be truly unforgettable.”

February 3, 2027: The plane departs from Frankfurt at 2:30 PM. We recommend arriving at Frankfurt Airport before 11:00 AM for a smooth departure.

February 4, 2027: Early morning arrival in Ulaanbaatar. The journey begins, carrying each traveler toward the vast expanses of Mongolia. Excitement is palpable, mixed with curiosity and the promise of total change of scenery. The night is spent in the sky, rocked by clouds and dreams of distant horizons. You will be accommodated either in a hotel or in a well-heated ger (yurt) village.

February 5, 2027: The next morning, the steppes welcome the travelers. After a comforting breakfast, the day begins with a cultural immersion. The first stop is the Gandan Monastery, the spiritual heart of Mongolian Buddhism, where the prayers of the monks rise in a vibrant murmur of incense and devotion. After a convivial lunch in the city, a visit to the National Museum offers rich insights into Mongolian history and the traditions of Tsagaan Sar. Depending on the group’s energy, these visits may be postponed to the last day. The evening ends with a shared dinner and a restful night in Ulaanbaatar.

February 6, 2027: After breakfast, the real journey into the steppes begins. Vehicles leave the capital and head toward the vast landscapes. The scenery stretches endlessly: mountains, snowy plains, and vibrant silence. Arrival in the Khogno Khan region marks the start of immersion. Participants settle into heated yurts within a nomadic family. Daily gestures quickly replace words: preparing Tsagaan Sar dishes, helping care for livestock, sharing warm tea and laughter. At sunset, a welcoming shamanic ceremony opens the sacred space of the journey.

February 7, 2027 – Arrival into nomadic life: Tsagaan Sar preparations

From dawn, the yurt welcomes you with warmth. Around the stove, breakfast is simple and sincere. The day is dedicated to the final preparations for Tsagaan Sar: ritual cleaning, preparing traditional dishes (buuz), and shared gestures passed down through generations. At night, a first shamanic ritual takes place, accompanied by chants and drums.

February 8, 2027 – Tsagaan Sar: the Mongolian New Year

A meaningful and solemn awakening. It is the day of Tsagaan Sar. Respectful greetings (zolgokh) are exchanged, khadags are offered, and family gatherings begin. A shamanic ceremony accompanies this sacred day.

February 9, 2027 – Silence, meditation, and integration

The celebration continues in harmony with nomadic life. The wind moves across the steppe, and each breath becomes a form of prayer. In the evening, a gratitude ceremony honors the earth, ancestors, and the present moment.

February 10, 2027 – Toward the Tsenkher hot springs

The journey leads to the mountains and the Tsenkher Hot Springs. The contrast between hot water and frozen land is striking. A Water Ritual brings purification and renewal, followed by healing practices and shamanic traditions.

February 11, 2027 – Return to the steppe and Fire Ceremony

At night, a fire ceremony celebrates renewal. The past is released, the future illuminated.

February 12, 2027 – Sacred walk

A meditative hike through the mountains. Each step becomes a prayer, each view an offering.

February 13–15, 2027 – Spiritual retreat in Mongolia

Three days outside of time: individual shaman consultations, healing sessions, and oracle ceremonies. A deep inner transformation unfolds.

February 16, 2027 – Return to Ulaanbaatar

After the wild landscapes, the city feels almost unreal. The evening offers songs and dances expressing the soul of Mongolia.

February 17, 2027 – City day

Final visits and last purchases.

February 18, 2027 – Return

Transfer to the airport and return flight. The plane arrives in Frankfurt around midday.
