Shamanic Experience
Meet shamans where their traditions are still alive: in the Mongolian taiga, in the heart of Lapland or at the far ends of New Zealand. These journeys invite you to share, with respect, their ceremonies, their gestures and their vision of the world, accompanied by guides who know these peoples intimately.
What you’ll experience
Shared alongside shamans recognised by their own communities.
Share the daily life of the families who welcome you.
Small groups and a team by your side at every step.
The path of the shamans
Long before religions built temples, the peoples of the steppe, the taiga and the Arctic turned to the shaman: the one who travels between worlds to restore balance between humans, nature and the spirits. In Mongolia, among the Sámi of Lapland, in the forests of Sweden and Norway, and on the far shores of New Zealand, these traditions are still alive today. For the communities who keep them, they are not folklore but a way of living in relationship with the land.
A shamanic journey with Sacred Origins Travel is not a show. You are welcomed as a guest and invited to take part, with respect, in fire and offering rituals, drum ceremonies, purifications by smoke or water, and long moments of silence in nature. Ceremonies are led by shamans and knowledge-keepers recognised by their own people, in their living context, never staged for visitors. Our founder, Chimegmaa Orsoo, was born in Mongolia and has woven these relationships over many years.
Each journey is designed as an inner path as much as a discovery: small groups, a slow rhythm, time to integrate what you experience, and guides who translate not only words but meanings. No previous experience of shamanism is needed, only openness and respect for the traditions you are invited into.
Choose the setting that calls you: the steppes of Mongolia during Tsagaan Sar or in summer, the snowy forests of Lapland at New Year, the Arctic light of Norway, the forests of Sweden, the deserts of Morocco and Algeria, or the edge of the world in New Zealand.

Your questions
Do I need any experience of shamanism?
No. Our shamanic journeys are open to everyone. Each ceremony is explained beforehand, and you are always free to simply observe if you prefer.
Are the ceremonies authentic?
Yes. They are led by shamans recognised by their own communities and take place in their natural setting, never as performances for tourists.
How large are the groups?
Our groups are deliberately small so that everyone can be welcomed properly. The exact group size is given on each journey page.
Is it physically demanding?
Most journeys suit anyone in normal good health. Some include walks, cold climates or nights in camps and yurts: the details are on each journey page, and we are happy to advise you.
How do I book?
Fill in the booking form on the journey page. You will then receive an email to pay a 30% deposit, which confirms your place.
