Festival & Celebration
Experience the great celebrations of living traditions from the inside: Tsagaan Sar, the Mongolian Lunar New Year, or the gatherings of the Far North. Rare moments of joy and sharing, where you are welcomed not as a spectator, but as a guest.
What you’ll experience
Celebrated by and for local communities.
Share these moments with the families.
Colours, songs, rituals and festive traditions.
Celebrate as a guest
Some moments of the year concentrate the soul of a people. Tsagaan Sar, the Mongolian Lunar New Year, is one of them: families gather, honour their elders, share offerings and food, and greet the new year with rituals passed down for centuries. Taking part in it from the inside, as a guest of a family rather than a spectator, is an experience few travellers ever have.
Our festival journeys are built around these living celebrations. In Mongolia, you share the preparations, the traditional greetings and the long, joyful days of visits, while shamans open the year with their own ceremonies. In the Far North, you experience the summer gatherings under the midnight sun, when light never fades and communities come together.
These are not events organised for tourists. They are celebrated by and for local communities, and we are welcomed into them thanks to relationships built over many years. Before each journey, we explain the customs and gestures that matter, so that you can take part naturally and respectfully.
Expect colours, songs, generous tables and deep emotions, and memories that stay with you long after you return.
